Optimized for stereo


OZO Playback is optimized for devices with stereo speakers. The ultimate sonic experience can be achieved with symmetrically placed loudspeakers, but what sets OZO Playback apart is its ability to accommodate asymmetric speaker configurations just as effectively.


Nokia audio engineers design and precisely tune smart algorithms for processing the spatial sound to that device. The result: a superbly enhanced audio experience, where users perceive sound from “virtual speakers” on either side of the device. While the best experience can be achieved through symmetrically placed loudspeakers, our algorithm can be tuned to provide an impressive stereo-widening experience for asymmetric loudspeaker configurations as well.

For the Nokia OZO Audio portfolio, the basis of all our algorithms is the analysis of the multiple microphone signals. OZO Audio requires a minimum two microphone configuration, but three or more mics enable advanced feature capabilities. More microphones also translate to better audio fidelity allowing us to enable high-quality spatial reproduction, and means we can provide advanced capabilities for audio capture and editing.
